MLK Celebration Week 2025
Every year, members of the Augustana University community join together for a series of events that celebrates three aspects of the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — faith, advocacy and service.
This year, Augustana centered its programming around a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.'s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” in April 1963, which read, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.”
Hosted by several Augustana offices and student organizations, the following is a schedule of events planned for the week of Monday, Jan. 20, on the university’s campus:
